Husch is Good Leader for Town
To the editor:
I strongly disagree with Barbara Glakas in her letter about Vice Mayor Dennis Husch in last week's Observer. I know there are many voters in Herndon who respect and covet Mr. Husch's manner in confronting mistruths with facts. Councilmember Husch has a record of challenging those who come to the podium for their personal gain and not in the best interest of the whole community.
Mr. Husch is a library of information of history and facts, he is articulate, and he is very well respected in our community. The folks of Herndon like him so much so that they selected him as vice mayor by giving him the most votes of any candidate running for council.
Ms. Glakas on the other hand has made her personal dislike for Councilman Husch clear. She is entitled to her own opinions. What she has done is use a public forum to disclose her personal feelings. Today, e-mails are routinely sent to numerous individuals and blind copies are sent to others such that the intended receiver has no knowledge of who read the e-mail. By sending multiple addresses to folks in a public office, e-mails become part of the public record and public information.
Thank goodness Mr. Husch is willing to speak out in the defense of our community. He is exactly the kind of leader Herndon needs; one that reaches out to the community; one that conducts public business in public; one that serves the community, and one that stands strong against those who would take unfair advantage of our town for their own personal gain. Our thanks go to Mr. Husch for his work.
